Countrystyle successfully diverts over 180,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste from landfill each year, supporting domestic and international Energy from Waste (EfW) as well as Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). Of this total, approximately 80,000 tonnes are processed at UK-based facilities, while around 100,000 tonnes are exported to Europe, where the waste contributes to combined heat and power (CHP) networks – providing both electricity and heating to local communities.

Countrystyle are lucky to partner with many EfW plants both close to home and round the country in order to help provide a sustainable solution to RDF waste. One local plant transforms up to 657,000 tonnes of residual waste into 74MW of electricity, enough to power 160,000 homes and businesses. It also works closely with another local business to divert steam to be used as energy, maintaining a sustainable practice. These partnerships also serve as a vital avenue to divert residual waste from landfill and process it through a more sustainable option.
